The Money Pit

Remember the movie "The Money Pit" with Tom Hanks and Shelley Long? Well I am beginning to wonder if that is what we are buying. :) We knew that the air conditioner was not working at our soon to be "new house". Daniel (my brother) has a friend that works on them so we set up a time for him to go out and fix it hoping it just needed to be charged. Well of course with the luck we have been having with this house it was more that just that. I had to go to Vegas on the day that he was out working on it. I get a text from Daniel while I was in my meeting that there was a leak and they were going to have to cut drywall. Now remember we have not signed on the house yet. I call Daniel and find out that there were numerous leaks and that they have cut 2 holes in the drywall. I had a little stress but called my Realtor and he said it was not a big deal. While Daniel is there he checks all the plumbing to make sure everything is in working condition (he is plumber by trade). He finds that the pump in the jacuzzi tub in my master bathroom is not working and he is going to have to pull the tub to fix it, and it just seemed to go on and on that day. Like a notice of Trust Deed Sale posted to the door of the house, etc, etc, etc. I won't bore you with all the details. :)

Well as you can see the countdown to signing is still on. Yeah I know...we were supposed to sign on Friday...well I called the Realtor Friday morning because we had not heard where we were supposed to sign. When I called he informed me that he received an email late the night before and that it had been pushed back till next week. Suprise, Suprise I know. I tell you if we did not feel that this was the perfect house for us and were getting such a good deal we would have walked away weeks ago.

Sorry for the rambing. Hopefully we will have better luck next week.

What a pain to have to go through all of that. Once you finally get in the house you will LOVE IT and then it won't seem so bad. Can't wait to see it. Good luck.

Wow, what a big mess. I hope that everything turns out great today, and that nothing else goes wrong. I hope little yellow is fine, and that it just had a little cold, and not pneumonia. I'm sure Ozzy will treat her well. Love ya! May you be moving by the end of the day!
